You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Lots of paper and lots of photos is the best way to describe the newest two-page sketch!

Here are some ideas for the photos if you want to change it up to fit your pictures:

• Use a 7 x 5" in place of the 6 x 4" photo on the left page.
• Use four 2 x 2" photos in place of the 4 x 4"
• Use two 4 x 4" photos in place of the 6 x 4" and the 5 x 3-1/2" photos.
• Use three 3 x 3" photos in place of the three 2-1/2 x 2-1/2"

Be sure to check back during the week to see how our creative team used this sketch! It's a great week!

• You may have noticed that the sketch has a personal use reminder on it. Nothing has changed with the terms of use we have in place with our Scrapbook Generation sketches. We only decided to put the reminder on the sketch to help those that may have forgotten about the terms or maybe those who haven't had the time to check out our "Frequently Asked Questions" page. If you have any questions be sure to visit the FAQ page and if that doesn't answer your question you can always email me at allison@scrapbookgeneration.com. I am always happy to answer any questions! :)

Two-page Sketch #26

••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Have you ever seen the patterned papers that have twelve 3 x 4" pieces? Some have fun designs, some are great journaling blocks and others have quotes or titles. (Simple Stories, Fancy Pants and Echo Park are a few that make these papers.) That's what this sketch was based on. That whole top row of patterned paper and embellishments, that idea came from those fun patterned papers. If you use those papers you can use this sketch and go from sketch to finished layout in no time!

Don't have those particular papers? No problem! Challenge yourself to come up with your own decorative 3 x 4" pieces for that top row!

Here are a few ideas for the photos:

• Use four 6 x 4" photos.
• Use six 4 x 4" photos.
• Use six 2 x 2" photos in place of a 6 x 4"
• Use a 4 x 4" and two 2 x 2" photos in place of a 6 x 4"

We've got another great week packed with wonderful projects from our talented creative team! Be sure to check back throughout the week!

Two-page Sketch #25

••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Lots of papers, lots of pictures and fun embellishments too! There are so many possibilities with this one!

For the papers you could use several different sizes of smaller strips to make up the background or add in some other elements like border strips or felt borders. As for the flowers, try any large embellishment in it's place to fit your theme like a big house, a tree, a big flourish, etc.

One thing I love about photo blocks like on this sketch is that you have endless photo combinations to use. I look at it like a puzzle and try to find different sizes that will measure up to the same overall size of the photo block. There is even plenty of room to add in some vertical 4 x 6" photos and increase the height of the photo block.

Check back tomorrow and throughout the week to see the wonderful layouts created by our creative team!

Two-page Sketch #24

•••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

There is something about two-page week that makes me happy!

This month the two-page sketch has lots of possibilities! That wavy piece along the top could work well with any theme and become a fun part of the design too with some simple additions. You could add cars, sleds, snowmen, houses, flowers, grass, etc across the top of the wavy strip to play with the theme you are working with.

There are also lots of photo arrangements that will work. Here are a few:

• Use six 4 x 4" photos in place of the row of photos.
• Use a 6 x 4" photo in place of the 4 x 4" and the two 2 x 2" photos.
• Use eight 3 x 4" photos.
• Use two to twenty-four 2 x 2" photos across the middle.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what our talented Creative Team has done with this sketch!

Two-page Sketch #23

••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

I've got a love for making Christmas trees so of course I took full advantage of that this month! Most of the left page is covered in trees of all sizes with the title and journaling right there in the middle of it all.

With the 11 pictures on this sketch there are lots of options for changing things up if you need to. Here are a few examples:

• use two 4 x 3 photos in place of one 4 x 6.
• use nine 4 x 4 photos on the right page (they will cover the whole page)
• add two more 4 x 6 photos on the left page and only use the three smallest trees.
• use a large grid of 2 x 2 photos in place of the 3 x 3 photos
• use four 6 x 4 photos on the right page

We've got a great week of two-page layouts coming up so be sure to check back on Monday!

Two-page Sketch #20

•••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Because we are doing a Simple Stories product challenge this month, this sketch was based on the 4 x 6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements and can be used with any of the Simple Stories collections. The vertical journaling cards always have such fun designs on them and they will help to make this sketch look great without having to put a lot of time into it.

Two-page Sketch #20 has not only a lot of pictures in a variety of sizes but also lots of strips of paper. This sketch is an easy one to simplify too by only using 4 x 6 photos and just a few of the suggested strips.

Here are a few ideas for using different photos than what the sketch suggests:

• use a 4 x 6 photo in place of the two 4 x 3 photos.
• use a 4 x 6 photo in place of the six 2 x 2 photos.
• use two 4 x 3 photos in place of the six 2 x 2 photos.
• use a 4 x 4 and two 2 x 2 photos in place of the two 4 x 3 photos or the six 2 x 2 photos.
• use another 4 x 6 photo in place of the big heart embellishments.

We've got another full week of fun layouts! On Friday we'll share our Simple Stories product challenge layouts and have another challenge for you too!

Two-page Sketch #19

••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

When the back to school season started to approach I wanted to create a sketch that would be good for all of those first day of school pictures. With the an enlargement as the main focus and then several smaller supporting photos for pictures of supplies, backpacks, and all those fun back to school pictures we take. Of course, even though school was the inspiration for this sketch, it can be used for any theme.

There are also many photo options too, like:

• use a 4 x 6 in place of the 5 x 7
• use 3 x 3 photos and squares of paper to fit even more photos on your page
• use 2 x 2 photos and squares
• combine photos on the sketch for larger photos on your layout

Be sure to check back tomorrow and all through the week to see how our talented creative team has used this sketch!

Two-Page Sketch #18

•••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

With the record high temperatures we've been having around here I've had little on my mind other than nice cool water. If a waterproof laptop was possible I would be the first in line to get one and spend my days soaking in a pool. You can clearly see from this sketch that water has been on my mind lately!

For the big splashes on the right page you can use many supplies like a big jeweled or chipboard  flourish, a design cut from patterned paper, hand stitching (try using a big chipboard flourish for a template), or a fun splash sticker from the many cute summer/swimming collections. Or if you have a different theme in mind for this sketch you can easily substitute any large embellishment for the big splashes and use decorative strips in place of the waves. Another option, in case you want to add more journaling, remove the big splash and use that space for more journaling.

As for the pictures, there are many options to play around. The three 6 x 4 photos on the right page can easily transform into a collage of smaller photos. There are so many combos you can use that the possibilities are endless. Here are some ideas:

• Use another 6 x 4 photo in place of the three 3 x 3 photos on the left page. You might need to move the wave strips down a little to make some room.
• Use three wallet size photos in place of the three 3 x 3 photos
• Use a 7 x 5 in place of the 6 x 4 on the left page.
• Use eighteen 2 x 2 photos in place of the three 6 x 4 photos on the right page.
• Use six 3 x 4 photos in place of the three 6 x 4 photos on the right page.
• Use two vertical 4 x 6 photos in place of the three 6 x 4 photos on the right page. Adjust the designs on the right page so that the vertical strip runs along the edge of the photos like it does with the sketch as it is.

We've got another great week full of layouts to share with you so check back tomorrow to see the start of Two-page Week!

Two-Page Sketch #17: Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volume 8

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Every six months at Scrapbook Generation Publishing we come out with another volume of Sketches for Scrapbooking. Since July 1 was the release date of the newest Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volume 8 we thought we would share one of our favorite sketches from the book. So this week you get to see (and print) a sketch from the book and what our creative team did with it!

I usually don't pick favorites when it comes to sketch but this one just might be one! It might be that I love stars and this one has a whole lot of them or it could be that the picture sizes are the easiest to work with. We all know that it's always easiest to print a 4 x 6 and use it as is but I also think 4 x 4" photos are just as easy. They are the one size that is almost always easy to crop out of a 4 x 6 in either orientation.

There are also lots of other photo sizes you can use like:

• Use three horizontal 4 x 6 photos in place of the three 4 x 4 photos on the right page.
• Use a vertical 4 x 6 in place of the bottom 4 x 4 on the left page.
• Use two rows of 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 in place of the one row of 4 x 4 photos on the right page.
• Use a 4 x 6 in place of the 4 x 4 on the far left
• Use four 2 x 2 photos in place of any 4 x 4 photo on the page.

We've got so many layouts to share this week that I can't wait to get started! And you might want to keep checking the Creative Team member's blogs. There might be some giveaways going on this week!

Speaking of giveaways...

Today we are giving away a copy of the newest book: Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volume 8. It's the next book in our series with 30 new two-page sketches. To be eligible, leave a comment, we'll randomly pick a winner, and announce it on Wednesday.

Two-page Sketch #16

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

This sketch has been sitting in my personal sketch book for quite some time and I was so happy to finally turn it into an official sketch!

While the sketch has only three photos, just like most sketches there are lots of ways to include more. Here are a few options for adding more photos:

• Four 3 x 4 photos in place of the two 6 x 4 photos
• Six 2 x 2 photos in place of one 6 x 4 photo
• Two 6 x 3 photos in place of the 6 x 4 photos, a 3 x 3 in place of the 3 x 4 photo, and an extra row of 3 x 3 photos above or below the photos on the sketch. You'll have to adjust the papers to fit like adding more height to the background piece and moving the whole design down.
• Add another 6 x 4 photo in place of the 3 x 4 and extend the papers to the edge of the right page.
• Add three 2 x 2 photos in a row just below the the row of pictures on the sketch
• Add another 3 x 4 photo in place of the flowers on the left page
• Replace the bottom strips with pictures. You can use the same size of pictures as the row of photos on the sketch.

There are also a lot of ways to change the theme of the page. The area with the flowers is a great place to add some larger embellishments and can be a fun way to play around with the theme. A few ideas are:

• lollipops
• fireworks
• Christmas trees
• a big three tiered birthday cake
• a house
• a big splash of water
• bubble wands with bubbles all around them
• pinwheels
• ice cream cones or popsicles
• balloons

Check back on Monday to see all the great layouts from our creative team!

One-Page Week, Part 5 and more bonus sketches

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
One-Page Sketch #9

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the one-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"My Sweet Little Dreamer" by Amy Roller
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin Up!; Pattern paper: Pebbles; Stamps: Papertrey Ink; Ink: Stampin UP!; Letters: Making Memories, Prima, Basic Grey; Chipboard: Maya Road; Metal embellishments: Lil' Davis Designs, unknown; Thread, Rhinestones: Close To My Heart; Border punch: Martha Stewart; Circle border: We R Memory Keepers; Cross stitch: made by Alma Benfield

I decided to make the one-page sketch into a two-page layout this time around. I followed the sketch pretty close, I just continued the wavy line, and strips across the page. I did add an extra strip of a glittered circle border across the page.

I added 1" cardstock circles behind it of the same color as the border strip across the top of the page to tie the two together. The strip across the top was made wider than the sketch because I used a border punch across it and then stitched part of the strip to help bring a touch of white to the top as well. It felt more balanced to me.

I used different sizes of pictures and had more due to changing from 1 to 2 pages but I kept them along the same placements and also added a cross stitch my grandma did for him. It was a good way to preserve it.

I also added several more embellishments up the right side to help fill in the area.

I made the title out of chipboard letters and had it stretch across both pages and added a cluster of embellishments and words at the end.

The letters I used were the wrong color so I inked them to make them match and then drew a line around the edges to make them standout. Because I used a larger title, I moved my journaling up next to one of the photos which helped fill in the white space on the photograph as well.

  • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

"Sweet Boys" by Shari Thurman
Supply List - Pattern Paper: Crate; Foam Alphabets: American Crafts; 3D adhesive: Thermoweb; Tools: punches by EK success and Creative Memories; Other: buttons, cardstock, pens, machine stitching

The most noticeable of all the changes I made to this weeks sketch was stretching it to a two-page layout. I extended the curve and stretched the background.

I then relocated the title to the top left, detailing the letters with a pen creating faux stitching .

I moved my photos down a bit and matted them on a coordinating color of cardstock and zigzag stitched around them for interest.

For my embellishments, I created stitched stars as shown on the sketch. I inked and layered 3 cirles, a stitched star and a button threaded with twine. I used 3D adhesive between them for dimension.

To finish the layout, I added my journaling strips to the page on the right and added extra stitching around the layout.

"The boys had fun crawling around on the hay bales at my parents farm for these fall pictures. I love the pretty sky full of clouds. I'm so glad my sweet boys can experience being on a farm, even if it's just for a visit. Fall 2010"

"Flying High" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye; Alphabets: Prima (flying) and American Crafts (high); Stickers: My Mind's Eye; Memory Thread: DMC

Variation #1 - A lot of times using a one-page sketch for a two-page layout is a breeze because you can just continue the design onto the second page. With this sketch, while you can continue or "stretch" the design of the papers across the page the photos might not exactly work that way. Because the title and journaling are below the photos on the left page, chances are those two elements aren't going to stretch across to the right page. (Of course it can, especially if you have a need for more journaling space.) The problem with the title and journaling absent from the right page is it will leave you with a gap on between the photos and the striped strip. This is one of those that you might have to come up with your own photo design to help fill in that gap.

It's not a big hurdle at all, it's just finding a way to make the photos you want to use work with the design of the papers. I went for a super easy, (one of my favorite no fail solutions) and created a rectangle grouping of photos.

Variation #2 - Since a lot of the photos I wanted to use were vertical I decided to use a mix of wallet size photos ( 2 1/2 x 3 1/2) and then cropped my horizontal 4 x 6 photos to the same 3 1/2 height for the top row of pictures. On the bottom row (right page) I used an uncropped 4 x 6 and a 3 x 4 photo.

Variation #3 - I added stars across the wavy line on the bottom and then added a line of hand stitching across the top of them.

Add-on Week, Part 5 and a bonus sketch

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Add-on Sketch #5

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the add-on sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

"Our Little Family" by Allison Davis
Supplies - Patterned paper: Bella Blvd and American Crafts (clouds); Alphabets: BasicGrey (our), American Crafts (little), and Bella Blvd (family); Rubon: unknown; Stickers: Cosmo Cricket and Bella Blvd; Jewels: Kaisercraft

I thought the tree would be a fun way to embellish a page about my family. When I saw a super cute chipboard piece by Bella Blvd. that had a tree with a heart on one branch I decided to combine it with the add-on sketch for my layout.

Variation #1 - Instead of the trunk going behind the circles I added branches and kept mine in sight.

Variation #2 - Because I wanted the branches to show I didn't layer my circles on top of each other and instead have them spaced apart. I tried to keep the same overall circle look to my tree as the sketch.

Variation #3 - I add a red heart to one branch. I loved the thought that it kind of represented our own little branch in our family tree.

Variation #4 - I used green jewels to help fill in the really small spaces.

Bonus Sketch
Two-page Sketch #14 - based on Add-on Sketch #5
•••••••••••••••
••••••••••••••••••••
You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

This sketch is also based off of my layout, "Our Little Family". There are a few things I wanted to share with you about this sketch and the different ways you can use it.

Photos - There are 19 photos on this sketch! That's a lot! The fun thing about layouts that have a grid design is that they are easy. I used wallet size photos so I could still have most of the picture in sight when I cropped them down to the 2 1/2" size.
 •••••••••••
Most photo processing places offer wallet sizes but if the place you use doesn't you might check out http://www.photility.com They have a wonderful free software called Photo Sheet that allows you to group several separate images into a single image, like six 2 x 2 photos printed on a 4 x 6.

You can also use larger photos with the sketch, like 3 x 3 and adjust everything as needed. Obviously you won't be able to fit as many photos but it will still work. You can also add in a larger focal photo somewhere too, like a 5 x 5 (cropped from a 5 x 7) in place of four photos or a 2 1/2 x 5 in place of two. Another way you can add in a bigger picture is to put one in place of the tree and then use smaller embellishments beside it.

Theme - This sketch will work great with a collection of your favorite photos, like I did on my layout. You could do a month in review, birthdays, holidays, etc. And you can remove the tree and add many other larger embellishments in it's place like:

• a big birthday hat
• a wedding cake
• big splashes of water
• a Christmas tree
• tall flowers
• a house
• tall guitars
 •••••••••••••
Stitching - I absolutely love stitching on my pages but I understand that not everyone is as big of a fan as I am. And I'll admit, the stitching was quite time consuming on this layout since there is so much. If you don't like stitching you can always do "faux" stitching with a pen or just add straight lines with a pen to get a similar look.

Two-Page Sketch #13

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

When May and June roll around in my house it's celebration time with two birthdays about a month apart. I must have been deep in party planning mode when I designed this one!

This sketch is perfect for any celebration theme like birthdays and parties. That doesn't limit the sketch though. You can always remove the banner and add more patterned paper strips or other elements in it's place. Like a decorative border, clouds and a sun, or a row of smaller photos.

Two-page Sketch #13 has room for eight photos but, just like every sketch, it can easily be adapted to more or less. A few photo adjustments you can do to make the sketch work for you:

• remove the three 2 x 2 photos
• use a vertical 5 x 7 in place of the two 4 x 6 photos
• use 3 x 3 photos in place of the 4 x 4 photos
• split one of the 4 x 6 photos into two 3 x 4 photos
• add more 2 x 2 photos and shorten the journaling space
• add more photos in place of the banner

Check back tomorrow for the beginning of Two-page Week!

The blog hop giveaway is still open until 12:00 tonight so you've still got time to enter. We'll announce the winner of the hop giveaway tomorrow.

Two-Page Sketch #11

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

• You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the card sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

We have found another way to offer the PDFs of the sketches. The download and print options are on the bottom of the sketch. The download tab has an arrow pointing down and the print tab has a little icon of a printer. Right now the only sketch that is available as the new PDF is Two-page Sketch #11. I will get the others changed to the new version as soon as possible. If you have any trouble downloading or printing, email me at allison@scrapbookgeneration.com

With 10 photos on two-page sketch #11 you shouldn't have any problem fitting each picture you want to use on the page. One thing I love about sketches with a block of photos is that the possibilities are truly endless and there are pretty much zero limits on what sizes of photos you can incorporate onto your page. Like, enlargements, smaller cropped photos, or even all 4 x 6 photos (replace the 3 x 3 photos with two vertical 4 x 6 photos and adjust the page as needed.) There are so many different photo combinations that you can use to fit in the 19 x 12" photo block.

We've got a week full of layouts to share based on two-page sketch #11 and lots of different ways you can adapt this sketch to fit what you want to use. The two-page week of fun starts tomorrow!

There's still a little bit of time to leave a comment to be eligible for the drawing for the Unibind PhotoBook Creator! (The post is two posts down.)

Two-Page Sketch #10 and the One-Page Product Challenge Winner

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Two-page sketch #10 fits six photos with three large and three small photos. This sketch is easy to adapt to other photo arrangements. A few adjustments you can easily make to fit the photos you have are:

• Use a 4 x 6 in place of the 3 x 6 in the middle.
• Use a grid of six 3 x 3 photos in place of the main grouping of photos.
• Move the title to the left and use four 6 x 4 photos. To keep the balance of the layout you'll probably want to move the whole design down about an inch.
• Use one 6 x 2 or 6 x 3 photo in place of the three 2 x 2 photos.
• Use three 3 x 3 photos in place of the three 2 x 2 photos.

As for the grid of stars, you can use so many different elements in place of those like hearts, flowers, pictures (minus the stitching through them), circles, squares, or try using one big element in place of them all.

Tomorrow we will start posting the layouts we've created based on Two-page Sketch #10 so make sure you stop by. There's lots of great layout to see!

"Get to Know the Creative Team" Blog Hop

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Welcome to the Sketch Support "Get to Know the Creative Team" blog hop!

Over the last two months I have had the chance to get to know this wonderful group of girls that make up the Sketch Support Creative Team. They are such a diverse group that is not only amazing in the crafty sense but also just amazing in general. I adore these girls and all the time and effort they put into making Sketch Support what it is. I would have to be insane not to invite all of our readers to get to know the girls who make this place possible. I want you to have a chance to get to know and adore them like I do.

Of course we are going to do this blog hop in Sketch Support style!

How about a new bonus two-page sketch to download and print?
How about tons of awesome projects based on the sketch?
How about giveaways galore?

Sounds pretty awesome, right?

Here's how the blog hop works.

At the bottom of this post you will find links to each of the Creative Team member's blogs. You can jump around if you like but we recommend starting at the first on the list and at the end of her post you can click the link and "hop" to the next blog.

Along the way you'll find projects based on our bonus Two-page Sketch #9.

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

You'll also find some giveaways as you travel along to each blog. To be eligible for those you'll have to visit their blog and read their requirements. And, of course, we have to do a giveaway here at Sketch Support too! I'm calling this giveaway

Two-Page Sketch #8

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You can download and print this sketch by clicking on the two-page sketches link found under the "printable sketches" tab on the right sidebar.

Tomorrow brings the beginning of two-page week and we have a lot of layouts to share based on the sketch above.

Two-page sketch #8 includes six photos with most of them being smaller, cropped photos. It's a great sketch for adding lots of detail shots or the row of four 3 x 3 photos along the bottom are set up perfectly for action shots.

If you don't like to crop your photos that small or only work with 4 x 6 there are still plenty of options for you to use this sketch. You might try using two 6 x 4 photos in place of the four 3 x 3 photos. If you keep them as they are on the sketch that would mean you would have to split a photo between the pages, which is fine, but I would recommend moving the row to right so you don't have to do that. You could even include a 4 x 4, the easiest size to crop from a 4 x 6, to the left side of the 6 x 4 to help maintain the balance of the layout.

Another option for those that don't want to mess with cropping is to use wallet size photos in place of the 3 x 3 photos. Most photo printing places offer that option at a low cost. I love wallet size prints because they allow you to use smaller photos without have to crop anything out of the picture, like a mini 4 x 6.

Tomorrow we'll start the first round of layouts the creative team has put together. It's going to be a week full of fun layouts!
